NORMAN, Okla. – The University of Oklahoma women’s gymnastics squad returned to No. 1 in the NCAA in Monday’s Troester regional qualifying score (RQS) rankings, following its 197.050-195.500 victory over No. 17 Missouri in Columbia, Mo., on Feb. 19.

OU became the first Big 12 program to be ranked No. 1 in the country for multiple weeks during a single season as the Sooners posted a score over 197.000 in back-to-back meets for the first time since 2004.

Oklahoma swept all four team event titles for the second week in a row, improving to 19-2 against conference opponents under fourth-year head coach K.J. Kindler.

The Sooners are ranked in the top six on every apparatus, including No. 1 RQS rankings on beam (49.140) and floor (49.185).  OU’s team event rankings are the highest in the Big 12 on each event.

Individually, Hollie Vise leads the nation on beam with a RQS of 9.900 and stands second on bars (9.895).  Megan Ferguson is in a four-way tie for second behind Vise on beam (9.895), while Jackie Flanery (floor - 9.890) and Natasha Kelley (bars - 9.855) rank fourth and 10th, respectively.

OU has posted 31 scores of 9.9 or higher through its first seven meets this season, compared to just 11 at this point last year.  Seven different gymnasts have scored at least a 9.9 in 2010, paced by Vise’s 10 routines that have scored a 9.9 or better.

Oklahoma returns to action at No. 23 Michigan State on Feb. 26 at 5 p.m. (CT).
