Men's Golf in 15th After First Round at Carpet Capital

ROCKY FACE, Ga. -- The University of Oklahoma men’s golf team completed Friday’s opening round of the Carpet Capital Collegiate in 15th place.

OU finished day one at The Farm Golf Club with a team total of 304 (+16).  The University of Florida leads the field of 18 teams at 282 (-6).

Junior Robert Stone, making his first career varsity start, is tied for 19th place after a first- round 73 (+1). Senior Justin Fraley is tied for 27th, one stroke behind Stone, at 74.  Senior Shawn LaFontaine and sophomore Phillip Bryan shot rounds of 78 and 79, respectively, to round out OU’s first-round scoring.

Georgia’s Chris Kirk holds the individual lead at 5 under par.

Round two will commence Saturday morning, and the final 18 will be played on Sunday.  Fans can follow live scoring at
