NORMAN, Okla. -- University of Oklahoma women's gymnast Kasie Tamayo followed up her stellar performance Sunday against Missouri by being named Big 12 Gymnast of the Week, the conference announced today. The award was the first in Tamayo's career.

In OU's 194.275-191.875 victory over the Tigers, the freshman from Sacramento, Calif. led the Sooners with victories in the all-around (39.400), uneven parallel bars (9.925) and the balance beam (9.900).

Tamayo won the AA and bars for the first time in her career and her all-around score was the third highest this season for an Oklahoma gymnast.

The No. 20 Sooners (10-4, 1-2 in the Big 12) and Missouri duel again next Sunday at 2 p.m. in Columbia, Mo.
