NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma men's golf team concluded final-round action at the Carpet Capital Collegiate in Rocky Farm, Ga., tied for eighth place with Georgia today. The Sooners finished with the second lowest score of the day, 280 (-8), for a three-day total of 870 (+6) at The Farm golf course (par-72, 6,906-yards).

OU was led by junior Doug Manor (Garland, Texas), who fired a career-low 68 in the final round and finished tied for 10th place.

Four shots behind Manor was junior Martin Flores (Mansfield, Texas), who shot a three-day total of 217 (+1), good for a tie for 29th place. Senior John Kidwell (Dallas, Texas) and junior Blake Martin (Stigler, Okla.) both shot three-round totals of 220 (+4) and tied for 36th place. Martin's final-round 68 was a career-low, one shot better than a round of 69 at OU's last tournament, the Sooner Invitational. Freshman Brodie Flanders (Vancouver, B.C.) finished out the scoring for Oklahoma with a of 78.

The Sooners will return to action Oct. 7-8 at the Pepperdine Intercollegiate in Oxnard, Calif.
