NORMAN, Okla. -- The famous King and His Court softball team will be playing at the OU Softball Complex at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 6. The four-person team will be playing against local media and celebrities to help raise money for the Oklahoma softball program and its phase two of stadium improvements.
The legendary pitcher Eddie Feigner, who has announced his retirement, is making his last world tour with the well-known exhibition softball team. The 74 year-old has thrown over 11,000 games and has struck out over 140,000 batters, 10,000 of them while being blindfolded. Joining Feigner on the team will be his wife, Anne Marie Feigner, former major league pitcher and softball veteran Rich Hoppe, and Eddie Aucion, a former great baseball player from Flagler College in St. Augustine, Fla.
"Having King and His Court and a legend in Eddie Feigner on our field in his last world tour is an honor and a privilege," OU head coach Patty Gasso said. "He will help promote our playoffs and our program, and this will help in getting people out here to see our stadium and our nice facility. The money raised will go toward phase two of our stadium, such as locker rooms, coaches offices and more parking."
