NORMAN, Okla. The Oklahoma men’s tennis team has rescheduled its Bedlam match against Oklahoma State, again. The Sooners and Cowboys have moved their contest to next Tuesday, April 24 at 2 p.m. at the Headington Family Tennis Center.
The match was originally played on April 10, but was postponed due to rain delay and was slated to finish Tuesday, but inclement weather moving into the Norman area this afternoon has postponed the match for the second time.
Oklahoma State leads Oklahoma in doubles competition.
At the No.1 slot, Federico Chavarria and Rob McKenize trail the Pokes’ Oleksandr Nedovyesov and Daniel Byrnes 1-2. In No. 2 doubles, OSU’s Nathan Byrnes and Artem Burmistrau are ahead of OU’s Andrei Daescu and Vaclav Kucera, 2-1. At No. 3, Marek Velicka and Ryan Thomas are behind Oklahoma State’s Dmytro Petrov and Ivan Puchkarov, 1-4.
OU is 16-4 on the season and 1-2 in Big 12 play. Oklahoma is led by No. 58 freshman Vaclav Kucera. The Sooners and the Cowboys met earlier this season in the ITA Central Region Team Playoff where OU fell to OSU. This season the Sooners have broke two-decade long streaks as they broke into the top 25 this season and defeated Texas A&M (6-1) for the first time since 1997.
Next week’s Bedlam battle will be the Sooners’ final home match of the 2007 regular season. Live scoring will be provided at SoonerSports.com.
