Oklahoma Head Coach Sherri Coale:
"I am glad to come out of this game with a win. I saw a difference between the first and second half. The half-court trap caused ORU to make mistakes, and it gave us some more shots. The tempo was in our favor this game. We stayed in a zone the entire possession. We got easy shots to fall for us. We are better shooters than what we showed tonight, and we just can't got out there and miss easy lay ups. We need to go into a game ready to shoot our way out of it. You should be able to if you are going to pull away with a win. We carried ourselves this entire game like we were playing to win. We attacked the zone and got after the loose balls. I didn't think that either half we were shiny. We must play our way through this."
Oklahoma Senior Forward Phylesha Whaley:
"I think that we played more aggressive the second half. We pushed the ball and played the passing lane. I think that we just went out there and played more motivated in the second half. We knew that we had to pay hard to win. Everyone figured out that we had to take the ball into the post. The post players had to show that we wanted to move the ball from the outside to the inside."
Oral Roberts Head Coach Jerry Finkbeiner:
"I thought that our girls played well tonight and up until five minutes to go. I thought that we had a shot to win. We didn't respond in OU's change in defense, and that is what hurt us. We didn't shoot our free throws. All of that hurt us. This was a good battle for early in the season. We came down to win two games, and we did our best. We will try to come back tomorrow and get a win."
Oral Roberts Sophomore Guard Krista Ragan:
"LaNeishea Caufield played great defense, and I knew that she was a great player. I knew what I had coming up against me tonight. She made a lot of shots. I didn't shoot the ball well for the team."
