NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma men's tennis team handed Southwest Missouri State its fourth loss of the season as the Sooners defeated SMS, 4-3, on Friday, Feb. 8, at the Oaktree Country Club in Edmond, Okla. With the victory, OU improves to 3-1 on the season, while SMS falls to 0-4.

OU sophomore Sebastien Revol forced Pavel Hanek to three sets before losing 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 at No. 1 singles. Junior Tobias Kronlein improved his singles record to 3-0 with a solid 6-2, 7-5 decision over SMS' Saggar Salim at No. 2 singles. Oklahoma's Chris Mitchell and Alex Nomicos easily defeated SMS' Fillip Knezevic (6-1, 6-3) and Predrag Pavlicic (6-2, 6-3) at No. 3 and No. 5 singles, respectively, to remain undefeated on the season.

Oklahoma headed into doubles action with the score tied at 3-3. The Sooners lost No. 1 doubles, 8-2, before rallying back to win No. 2 (8-4) and No. 3 (8-6) doubles for the match.

"I'm proud of how this team played and their ability to stay focused down the stretch," said OU head coach Paul Lockwood. "Now, our goal is to regroup and be ready for Sunday's match at noon."

Oklahoma host Northern Iowa on Sunday, Feb. 10, at the Oaktree Country Club at noon.
