OU Edges Maine, 11-10, to Stay Alive

OXFORD, Miss. -- Freddy Rodriguez provided the clutch RBI single in the top of the ninth inning and Oklahoma (35-25) pulled off an 11-10 victory over Maine (35-19) in the elimination round of the Oxford Regional on Sunday at Oxford-University Stadium.

OU will now have to defeat the No. 1 seed and host, Mississippi, twice to advance to the school’s first ever Super Regional appearance.  The Sooners will play Ole Miss with first pitch scheduled for 5:43 p.m. on Sunday in Oxford.

If necessary, the two teams will square off again on Monday at 7 p.m.

The Sooners’ game versus Ole Miss on Sunday at 5:43 p.m. can be heard on KOKC 1520 AM with Chuck Kelly calling the play-by-play.  Fans that are attending the game can hear the Sooners’ broadcast on 96.3 FM inside the stadium in Oxford.  The game can also be seen on the University of Mississippi’s official athletic site, www.olemisssports.com.
