FULLERTON, Calif. - The 11th-ranked University of Oklahoma softball dropped a 4-3 decision to second-ranked Arizona Friday morning at the Judi Garman Classic. The Sooners (24-5) scored three runs in the top of the third to take an early lead but allowed the Wildcats (24-2) to score four unanswered to win.

Dani Dobbs led off the third inning with a walk and moved to third when Chana'e Jones reached on an infield single and advanced to second on UA's first fielding error of the game.

Dobbs then scored on a throwing error by Arizona catcher Stacie Chambers to put the Sooners up 1-0. With two down in the inning, Lindsey Vandever delivered a single up the middle to score Jones and Amber Flores to make the score 3-0.

The Wildcats answered in the bottom of the fifth. K'Lee Arredondo reached on Oklahoma's first error of the contest and Chambers doubled to right center to give UA two runners aboard with no outs. After a pop out,

Lini Koria walked and Baillie Kirker was hit by a pitch to score Arredondo. With the bases loaded and one out, pinch runner Becca Tikey scored on the second OU error of the inning to trim the deficit to 3-2. Pinch hitter Matte Haack's sacrifice fly scored Koria to tie the game through six innings.

OU threatened in the top of the seventh as Katie Norris reached on a two-base error. Pinch hitter Wendy Trott walked but both runners were left on base to end the inning.

Kirker was hit by another pitch to start the bottom half of the inning and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt.  Pinch runner Victoria Kemp also moved to third on a sacrifice bunt and scored the game winning run on a Brittany Lastrapes infield single to give the Wildcats the 4-3 win.

Freshman pitcher Keilani Ricketts (14-5) gave up four runs, one of them earned, on seven hits. Ricketts walked seven and struck out eight. Arizona freshman pitcher Kenzie Fowler (16-1) allowed three unearned runs on two hits. Fowler walked four and struck out 12.
