NORMAN, Okla. -- The Sooners' matchup at Texas Tech (7-4-1, 2-0-1 Big 12) on Sunday gets underway at 1 p.m. at the John Walker Soccer Complex in Lubbock.  OU will look to bounce back from Friday's 5-1 defeat at Colorado on Friday and win its first road game of the year.

The Red Raiders opened Big 12 play last weekend at home with a 2-0 win over Iowa State and a 3-3 double overtime tie to Nebraska. Most recently, Texas Tech topped Baylor at home on Friday with a 1-0 victory.

Texas Tech return 18 letterwinners and eight starters from last season's team that finished 8-10-1 and eighth in the Big 12 standings at 3-7-0.  The Red Raiders are 3-1-1 at home in 2009 and the offense is led by Dawn Ward, who ranks third in the Big 12 with eight goals, including two game winners.   Ward is one of seven players on the Texas Tech roster with two or more goals.

The Sooners own a 6-5-1 edge in the all-time series after the Red Raiders won last year's meeting in Lubbock, 2-1, in double overtime.  The win snapped a seven-game winless streak for Texas Tech, which is 3-2 at home against Oklahoma.  Last year's game was the seventh decided by one goal in the series and third played in overtime between OU and Tech.  OU is 2-4-1 in those games.

Last Time Out | Recap
Nikki Marshall and the Buffaloes were too much for the Sooners on Friday at Prentup Field as Oklahoma fell 5-1 at Colorado. Marshall, the Buffaloes' star senior proved why she is an All-American and member of the U.S. National Team with four goals and an assist, including a hat-trick in the second half, as Colorado (7-5) remained atop the Big 12 standings with a 4-0 mark.

Player to Watch: Whitney Palmer
The junior was honored by the Big 12 Conference, Soccer America and Collegesoccer360.com on Tuesday following her three-goal performance over the weekend.  Her two goals scored against then-No. 13 Texas A&M helped give OU its first program win over the Aggies.  Palmer entered the weekend tied for third nationally with 10 goals and ranks second in the Big 12.
