NORMAN, Okla. – University of Oklahoma senior Andrei Daescu will take part in the 2009 ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships, Nov. 5-8, at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center on the campus of Yale University.
“This is a great opportunity for Andrei to display the same talent level he showed at the All-American Tournament,” said John Roddick. “He can really establish himself as one of the great players in collegiate tennis this weekend.”
This marks Daescu’s third-straight year to compete in the prestigious event that brings the nation’s top-32 collegiate tennis players together in a main draw event. Daescu, No. 40 nationally, qualified for the national tournament after making it to the finals of the Wilson/ITA Central Region.
Daescu, the tournament’s No. 4 seed, begins play Thursday when he takes on Boise State’s Vicente Joli at 3:00 p.m.
