NORMAN, Okla. - With the 2010 season just around the corner, the 11th-ranked University of Oklahoma softball team is making the most of its early-season preparations. The Sooners began practice last week and have been working to prepare for the season opener on Feb. 12.

“Practice has been very competitive and aggressive,” said senior Lindsey Vandever. “We’re are continuing to work hard and prepare for our first tournament in Florida. We’re really putting a focus on “us” as a team. I think I speak for everyone when we say we’re excited and anxious to start playing.”
In addition to practice, the team has already had its annual team picture day late last week and earlier this week took time to film the introduction video for the 2010 season. The team also spent time in the SoonerVisionHD studios to record additional video board elements, including the fan-favorite sing-a-long.
The Sooners open the 2010 season in Clermont, Fla. on Feb. 12. Oklahoma faces No. 4 Michigan and UCF at the National Softball Collegiate Invitational. Season tickets are on sale now.
