NORMAN, Okla. -- Two days after Oklahoma baseball head coach Sunny Golloway announced 11 players to national letters of intent for the 2007 season, three more players were added before the signing period ended on Wednesday.
Right-handed pitchers Danny Grande (Corpus Christi, Texas/Moody High School) and John Patterson (Frisco, Texas/Grayson County College-Frisco High School) now give the Sooners’ eight pitchers that will be new to the Sooners’ roster in 2007.
Additionally, Zach Hedges (Bentonville, Arkansas/Bentonville High School) is the fifth infielder signed by the OU coaching staff in the 14-member class for 2007.
“We are very excited to add three more talented student-athletes to an already star-studded recruiting class,” said Golloway. “Danny, John and Zach are accomplished players and have a lot of potential. The coaching staff believes that the 14 members of this class will keep our program in contention for championships by providing us with a lot of depth in the future.”
On Tuesday, Golloway announced the signing of 11 recruits, including Aaron Baker (Denton, Texas/Denton HS), Vincent Biancamano (Glendale, Ariz./Chandler Gilbert Community College/Arizona State), Tanner Chitwood (Sulphur, Okla./Sulphur HS), Andrew Doyle (Rock Island, Ill./Alleman HS), Mike Gosse (British Columbia/New Mexico Junior College), Bryant Hernandez (Oxnard, Calif./St. Bonaventure HS), Chad Lee (Oklahoma City/Barton County Community College), Garrett Richards (Edmond, Okla./Edmond Memorial HS), Tyson Seng (Enid, Okla./Enid HS), Devin Shepherd (Agoura Hills, Calif./Oxnard HS) and Brandon Thomson (Gilbert, Ariz./Chandler Gilbert Community College).
