OU Men's Golfers Tie For Fourth At The Maxwell

ARDMORE, Okla. - The 16th-ranked University of Oklahoma men-s golf team shot a final-round of 288 to tie for fourth place at The Maxwell in Ardmore, Okla. at Dornick Hills Country Club. The Sooners finished with an overall score of 854 (+14) for the tournament and six strokes behind tournament champion Tulsa. The Golden Hurricane shot a final round 279 to finish with a total of 848 (+8).

Kelsey Cline led Oklahoma for the third-straight tournament, tying for fourth overall with a final score of 210 (E). The senior from Yukon shot a final-round 71 to place in the top-five for the second-straight tournament. Cline finished six shots behind Oklahoma State-s Anders Hultman, who fired a third-round 67 to finish with a final score of 204 (-6) and win the individual title.

OU junior Cody Freeman tied for ninth after posting a final-round 72 to finish with an overall score of 212 (+2). It was Freeman-s fifth top-10 finish of the season.

Sophomore John Kidwell shot a third-round 71 to tie for 24th while freshman Martin Flores and sophomore Matt Cohn both tied for 58th (222, +12).

Playing as an individual in his first tournament of the season, OU senior Rodrigo Breton shot rounds of 72, 71 and 69 to tie for ninth place with a final score of 212 (+2). It was the best finish of his career as a Sooner and his final-round of 69 also tied a personal best.

The Sooners travel to Stillwater, Okla. this week to compete in the NCAA Central Regional at Karsten Creek Golf Course on May 17-19.
