NORMAN, Okla. - Head Coach Kalani Mahi and the University of Oklahoma volleyball team announced the signing of three recruits during this year's early signing period. The players, who will join the squad next season, are comprised of three talented high school prospects from Ohio, Oklahoma and Texas, and includes one middle blocker and two outside hitters.

"We are extremely excited for the group of talent we have coming in next season," expressed Mahi. "We not only believe that these girls will be an asset to our team, but also outstanding individuals who will represent the university and our program well."

The following is a compilation of each player's significant statistics and honors:

Gretchen French, Allen (Texas) Academy, Middle Blocker - A four-year letterman under the direction of Head Coach Jennifer Nelson ... Accomplished athlete who has garnered numerous honors since her freshman season (senior honors not yet available) ... A first-team All-State selection as a junior after being selected to the second team her sophomore year ... Garnered first-team all-district honors last year for the second-consecutive year ... Honored as the district Most Valuable Player as a junior ... A two-time first team All-Brazos Valley selection ... Named to several all-tournament teams during her career ... Led her team to an undefeated district season this year en route to bi-district, regional and state titles ... As a junior, her team won bi-district, district and regional championships and advanced to the state's Final Four ... Team also reigned as district champions her sophomore season ... Lettered two seasons in softball where she was named to the all-district second team as a pitcher.

Emily Kincaid, Broken Arrow (Okla.) High School, Outside Hitter - A three-year letterman under the direction of Head Coach Kari Smith ... Versatile player that also competed at the middle blocker and setter positions ... Garnered All-State and team Most Valuable Player honors her senior year ... Named team captain this past season ... Earned Rookie of the Year honors following her sophomore campaign ... Helped lead team to two state runner-up finishes her final two seasons and three-consecutive conference championships ... Registered 610 kills, 82 solo blocks and 91 service aces her senior year ... Senior year match highs included 23 kills and eight aces ... For her career, she posted 1,387 kills in 2909 attempts and totalled 943 points ... Has competed for the ORU club team for seven years.

Sheena Werling, Tiffin (Ohio) Calvert, Outside Hitter/Defensive Specialist - A four-year starter under the direction of Head Coach Lisa Lucius ... Played on the left side of the court ... Senior year honors included an All-State selection as well as all-league and all-district honors ... Named to the Ohio State University/Active Ankle Prep Showcase all-tournament team ... Garnered team captain and Most Valuable Player award honors in her final season ... Lettered in track and field her freshman and sophomore years ... An honor roll student all four years ... Member of the National Honor Society.
