NORMAN, Okla. The University of Oklahoma baseball team, fresh off a Bedlam Series win, announced on Monday that it will play a doubleheader against Northern Colorado on Tuesday, May 16 at L. Dale Mitchell Park at 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. It will be $.50 hot dog and coke night in game two of the evening.
The two were originally scheduled to play a pair of 7 p.m. games on Tuesday and Wednesday, but the forecast is calling for storms in the Norman area on Wednesday.
The 2:30 p.m. game will be available on the internet through Yahoo and the second game can be heard on KOKC 1520 AM with Chuck Kelly calling the play-by-play in both contests.
After the twin bill with Northern Colorado, the Sooners (28-22 overall, 11-13 Big 12) will entertain Texas Tech (31-20, 9-13) over the weekend at L. Dale Mitchell Park in the final regular season series of the 2005 season.
Sunday will also mark Senior Day for three OU baseball players. Tri-captains Matt Bose, Jeff Scuderi and Eric Thornton will be playing in their final regular season game at the Sooners’ home stadium.
OU, currently tied for fifth place in the Big 12 standings with OSU, clinched a berth in the 2005 Phillips 66 Big 12 Tournament by taking two out of three games over the Cowboys.
Only the top eight teams are eligible for the conference’s postseason tournament and the Sooners joined Baylor, Nebraska, Texas and Missouri as the teams currently qualified.
