The tournament will run through Sunday, Oct. 28, with the winners of the singles and doubles competition receiving draws in the ITA National Indoor Championships held in Columbus, Ohio, Nov. 1-4.
"I think are players are excited and anxious to compete in this prestigious regional event and I am looking forward to watching our guys," head coach Paul Lockwood said.
Competing in singles competition for the Sooners will be Federico Chavarria, Andrei Daescu and Ryan Thomas. Chavarria and Daescu will also be competing in doubles competition.
"I believe that our team is ready to compete at a very high level. The competition this weekend is going to be strong, but it is not anything that will faze our players. Our kids love to compete against the best and that is why they come to Oklahoma for events like this," Lockwood continued.
The winner and runner-up of the tournament in singles competition will advance to Columbus along with the winning team in doubles action.
The Sooners are nearing the end of the fall slate with this weekends competition and the indoor championships the Sooners have only one competition left. Oklahoma will compete in the UNLV Invitational in Las Vegas, Nev., Nov. 2-4.
