OU Head Coach Sherri Coale
On the game:
"We're getting better. We're making progress. I thought we did some things very well and I thought we defended them well. We had a few slips and every time we did they made us pay. Great teams do. They're not ranked No. 7 in the country for nothing. They're pretty good. I thought we fought and we showed a lot of grit. We played better offensively, but we still had some senseless turnovers. Errors of omission, not turnovers where we are trying to make things happen, but fidgety turnovers. We have to eliminate those. We did better in the second half and we out-rebounded Texas Tech. We're doing a lot of things right. I was pleased. I thought the performance by this really young team that's faced everything we've faced this year was pretty darn good."
On shot selection:
"I thought we got great shots. When is Dionnah Jackson going to go 2 of 16? We have come to depend on her for about 15 points and she just struggled and took some ill-advised shots. I thought we executed better, but we still have a long way to go. We did much better offensively than we did in Lincoln on Saturday.
On Antoinette Wadsworth:
"That was her best performance period. She only had one exhibition before the knee injury. She looked strong and went after things and looked confident. That's the first time I've seen her get lost in what's going on in the game instead of playing it in her head. She played with her body and that's good to see because we're going to need her."
OU Freshman Chelsi Welch
On playing against Texas Tech:
"I'm not pleased for myself because we didn't win. As a team we're all disappointed in a loss. The buildup of this game was huge for me-coming from that area. It was disappointing."
OU Senior Theresa Schuknecht
On defending Texas Tech forward Plenette Pierson:
"(Plentette) Pierson is an excellent post player. We have a lot of respect for her. Our game plan was definitely to double down on her and limit her time with the basketball."
On her team's effort:
"I think we played very hard tonight and we didn't give up right to the very end. We just kept going at them. If we play hard we're going to win a lot of games this season."
Head Coach Marsha Sharp
On the win:
"I thought it was a great basketball game. I thought Oklahoma played really well on the defensive end in particular. They made us make a lot of choices on offense. I thought as the game went on we made better decisions and got some good looks at the basket. We were able to convert with a little bit more efficiency as we went down the stretch."
On getting the early lead in the game:
"We weren't very pleased with our start against Baylor on Saturday and we thought that the first five minutes of a game particularly on the road really is important. I thought we did a much better job of executing the first few trips. We wanted our post players to have a chance to catch the ball in traffic and convert."
Freshman Gia Perkins
On her offensive play:
"Planette (Pierson) was in foul trouble and we were going to her in the first half to see how they would defend her. It was tough for us to get the ball to Erin (Grant) so I was just trying to drive it in there and see if I could draw the defense to me and dish it to someone in the post or if I could shoot a jumper."
Freshman Erin Grant
On scoring in the first half:
"In the first half, I thought I had an opportunity to score because they were backing off of me a little bit and we couldn't get the ball inside the way we wanted to. So I just took some shots to open things up."
