NORMAN, Okla. – The 20th-ranked Oklahoma women’s tennis team closes its regular season with Bedlam as the Sooners take on Oklahoma State on Saturday, April 23 at 1 p.m., in Stillwater.

Oklahoma (16-5, 8-2 Big 12) looks to tie its program-best Big 12 regular season record (9-2) with a win over the Cowgirls which was previously set in 2004.

“We are expecting a really tough match with OSU tomorrow to conclude the regular season,” OU Head Coach David Mullins said. “It will hopefully help prepare us for the tough challenges we will face in the postseason.”

The Sooners are currently third in the Big 12 standings behind Baylor and Texas.  OU has already clinched a bye in the first round of the Big 12 tournament that begins on April 28 in Waco, Texas.

“The girls are eager to finish the season even stronger than how they started back in January,” Mullins added.

Oklahoma moved up to No. 20 in the latest ITA top 75 poll with wins over No. 41 Kansas State and Kansas last weekend.

Senior Ana-Maria Constantinescu moved back into the ITA top 125 singles players this week, coming in at No. 119.  Constantinescu also moved up in the doubles rankings with partner Alice Radu.  The duo is currently ranked 40th in the country in doubles.

The Sooners have won the doubles point in 17 of their 21 matches this season.  All three doubles pairs have winning percentages higher than .600, while freshman duo, Mia Lancaster and Whitney Ritchie, lead the team at 12-1 with a .923 winning percentage in doubles.

Oklahoma State (7-14, 3-7 Big 12) enters Saturday’s match after splitting its last to matches.  The Cowgirls defeated Kansas, 4-3, in Stillwater but fell to No. 41 Kansas State by the same score.
