TULSA, Okla. – The pre-qualifying rounds of the D’Novo/ITA All-American tournament concluded, Sunday, as three Sooners took to the courts at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on the University of Tulsa campus. Freshman Costin Paval qualified for the main draw event after an impressive outing, while senior Blake Boswell and sophomore George Chanturia came up just short in their final matches.
Paval began the day pitted against SMU’s Artem Baradach, which he dominated in overwhelming fashion by taking both sets 6-2, 6-2. In the final round, Paval took on Mehdi Bouras of UNLV. Paval took the first set 6-3 and won the second set 7-6(6).
