Women's Tennis Struggles Against No. 66 Houston

HOUSTON - The University of Oklahoma women's tennis team fell to No. 66 Houston, 7-2, this afternoon at the John Hoff Tennis Complex in Houston, Texas. The Sooners drop to 5-6 on the season. Houston improves to 5-6.

In singles action, OU were only able to pick up points at the number one and six positions. Junior Viviana Mracnova won in straight sets over Galina Seliounina, 7-5, 7-5. Freshman Melissa Mendieta was victorious over Karine Urbin, 7-5, 6-1. The Cougers took the doubles point winning 8-6, 8-6, and 9-8.

The Sooners will return home next week to face Big 12 foe Texas A&M on Saturday, March 11, at the Westwood Tennis Courts in Norman, Okla. Match time is set for 10 a.m.
