NORMAN, Okla.-- The University of Oklahoma women's golf team improved to ninth place after shooting a second-round 310 (+50) Tuesday at the Kent Youel Invitational. The Sooners, who were in 12th place after Tuesday's morning first round, are tied with New Mexico State just 21 strokes behind first-place Hawaii in Kapolei, Hawaii.

Climbing the leaderboard for the Sooners in the second round was junior Kelly Jacques. Jacques shot two-over par Tuesday afternoon and leads the team with a two-round score of 150 (+6). Jacques, aiming for her sixth career top-10 finish, is in a tie for seventh place.

Senior Jaclyn Stelzer improved play in the second round after firing a 77 (+5) to earn a spot in 34th place, her best standing since the season-opening Badger Invitational. Sophomore Kendall Dye is in 49th place at 161 (+17) with one round remaining.  Senior Megan Goodwin shot a second-round 76 (+4) and is currently in a 61st-place tie while sophomore Staci Smoot is in a tie for 70th after shooting a two-round 165 (+21).

OU returns to the links for final-round action Wednesday beginning at 12:30 p.m. CDT on the par-72, 6,138-yard Kapolei Golf Course.  The Kent Youel Invitational field is comprised of 16 teams.
