Oklahoma Post Game Quotes
Kansas State 74, Oklahoma 45

Lloyd Noble Center (Norman, Okla.)
OU Head Coach Sherri Coale
On the game:
"Well it was a combination of Kansas State playing very well and knocking down all their open shots, particularly during that little stretch in the first half. Then again early in the second half we had a chance to get back into it and it seemed like they hit their first six or seven shots in a row. They were just too good for us to dig a hole like we did and be able to come back out of it. I give them top credit. (Kendra) Wecker made some big plays and was just outstanding. No surprise there, we knew she was capable of that coming into the game. You just can't give a team that is that good 26 points of off turnovers. You can't do it. We coupled that with our inability to get the ball to go in the basket."
On the lack of offense
"Well if I could explain it I would fix it. It is partly youth and partly the rigors of Big 12 play. Preparing for opponent after opponent, after opponent and how mentally draining that can be. Partly not having a leader, not having senior leadership anywhere."
On Kendra Wecker:
"Well she's big and strong and yet she can shoot the three. She can take you off the dribble, so there is nothing she can't do on the offensive end of the floor. I thought Dionnah did a fairly good job on her early. She made some tough shots. Dionnah for the most part handled her assignment correctly and maybe she didn't get out to contest a few times. For the most part she did a good job. Kendra makes you look silly sometimes because she is so strong, quick and athletic."
Freshman guard Chelsi Welch
On Oklahoma's poor shooting performance:
"Kansas State had a lot to do with that. It seemed like they were everywhere defensively. I missed a few easy baskets. When you work that hard to get shots and then miss the easy ones, it really deflates the team energy. The fact that they were bigger physically was a major factor because we are used to going up against team like that."

Head Coach Deb Patterson
On the game:
"This is a big win for us because we were coming off of a loss and against a team we have so much respect for. After the loss, this feels like a very good win. This is not a very easy place to win. We know when you go up against Oklahoma, you are going to play a team that will come right after you."
On game plan for second half:
"We just really wanted to continue to make execution an emphasis. Defensively I thought we were competing at a real high level, but we understood that OU would come back at us. We knew we had to stay to our assignments and true to our game plan."
Junior Forward/Center Nicole Ohlde
On controlling the tempo of the game:
"I thought we just came out and were really aggressive and maintained that. We really wanted to control what we were able to control. When we got a rebound we wanted to get the ball up the court and get in position. And when they got the outlet we wanted to make sure that we got back on defense."
Sophomore Forward Kendra Wecker
On coming back after the Iowa State loss:
"Wednesday (against Iowa State) was a tough day. We know we didn't come out and play our best. We weren't aggressive enough. We had a couple of really good days of practice after that and we came in here ready to play. We were aggressive and all aspects of our game were on."
