DALLAS - The Big 12 Conference has announced its Baseball 10th Anniversary Team as selected by a combined media panel and online fan poll. Oklahoma's Geoff Geary was named to the team.

Geary played two seasons for the Sooners primarily as a relief pitcher out of the bullpen, but made his mark.  The Buffalo, N.Y., native stands second in strikeouts (142) in OU's all-time records and fifth in saves (8).

Geary, who helped the 1997 team to the inaugural Big 12 Tournament title, has played his entire professional career with the Philadelphia Phillies organization.  In 18 Major League appearances in 2006, Geary has pitched 22.0 innings and struck out 12.

In order to be eligible for consideration, candidates must have been an All-Big 12 First Team selection at least once in their careers. Anniversary teams have been chosen for each conference sport during the 2005-06 season in celebration of the Big 12's 10th Anniversary. Nearly 1,000 fans participated in online voting through the league's web site. Fan polling was conducted for six 10th Anniversary teams including baseball, men's and women's basketball, football, softball and volleyball.
