DENTON, Texas - The 17th-ranked University of Oklahoma volleyball team made quick work of tournament host North Texas Saturday morning at the North Texas Invitational. The Sooners (5-1) need just over an hour to sweep the Mean Green (-8, -19, -12).

Oklahoma's front net presence proved to be too much for the Mean Green (3-3). OU out-blocked North Texas 12.5-1.0. Sallie McLaurin led the OU defense with nine total blocks, including one of Oklahoma's two block solos on the morning.

Suzy Boulavsky led the team with nine kills and added a season-high five block assists in the win. Caitlin Higgins added six kills.

Boulavsky hit .533 as Oklahoma hit .357 as a team and held the Mean Green to a -.098 clip.

Brianne Barker added another double-double to her season resume with 21 assists and 10 digs. She also had five kills and a .500 hitting percentage. Eden Williams had two of Oklahoma's four service aces. Grace Whitley started the match at middle blocker and hit .375 with four kills and three total blocks, including Oklahoma's second block solo.

Oklahoma controlled the match from first serve, allowing just one tie in the entire contest - at 8-8 in the second set. In addition to holding North Texas to a negative hitting percentage, Oklahoma's defense limited the Mean Green to just 23 kills and forced 32 attack errors.

The Sooners close out the North Texas Invitational this afternoon against Sam Houston State at 4:30 p.m. CT.
