BATON ROUGE, La. — Eric Bailey clocked a season-best time to win the 400-meter hurdles Saturday at the LSU Alumni Gold Invitational in Baton Rouge. The senior ran 50.68 in the event, bettering his previous season best of 50. 87, and winning his second title of the season in the event. The time moves Bailey up to No. 3 in the Big 12 and No. 9 nationally.

With a strong tailwind, Mookie Salaam finished second overall and first among collegiate athletes in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.04. However, the previously mentioned wind was measured at 5.1 meters-per-second which puts the result over the legal 4.0 mps used for NCAA qualifying purposes. The 2008 Olympic silver medalist in the event, Richard Thompson, won Saturday with a time of 9.91.

The quartet of Bailey, Remuro Henry, Trayvion Jones and Remuro Henry clocked a season-best time of 3:10.48 in the 4x400-meter relay to finish third overall and second among collegiate relays.

Running in a star-studded 110-meter hurdles field, Malcolm Anderson clocked his best time of the season, finishing fourth overall and second among collegiate athletes with a time of 13.87.
