Sooners Lead Preseason All-Big 12 Selections

NORMAN, Okla. – University of Oklahoma seniors Brianne Barker (Amarillo, Texas) and Suzy Boulavsky (Houston, Texas) and sophomore Sallie McLaurin (Midwest City, Okla.) were named to the Preseason All-Big 12 team as announced by the conference office today. The awards were chosen by league coaches, who were not allowed to vote for their own student-athletes. Barker was one of four unanimous selections to the team.
Barker’s 1,340 assists in 2010 set an Oklahoma 25-point rally scoring record and ranks as the fifth highest single season total in program history. She recorded the first triple-double in Oklahoma program history and had 19 double-doubles this season. Barker was named to the AVCA All-America third team and earned AVCA All-Central Region first team honors.

Boulavsky was named to the 2010 AVCA All-Central Region honorable mention team and the duo was first team All-Big 12 honorees. Boulavsky earned Academic All-America third team honors and was honored on the Academic All-District first team.

McLaurin became the first Sooner to earn Big 12 Freshman of the Year honors and was named Big 12 Rookie of the Week three times last season. She was also named to the All-Big 12 freshman team.
