SEATTLE – University of Oklahoma senior Kevin Schwab ran a collegiate-best four minutes, 2.92 seconds to finish fifth in the mile on Saturday afternoon at the UW Final Qualifier. Schwab’s time is the sixth fastest in program history and fifth fastest by a Sooner this year.
Schwab was the second collegiate to cross the line. His time ranks as the 10th fastest in the Big 12 Conference this year giving OU half of the top times in the league. It marked just his second time to run the event in his career, having previously competed in the event at the UW Indoor Preview on January 14.
Oklahoma closes out the 2012 indoor season next weekend at the NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships in Nampa, Idaho.
