NORMAN, Okla. -- The Oklahoma Athletics Department and head coach Sherri Coale announced the addition of second exhibition game to the 2006-07 women's basketball schedule.
The Sooners will kick-off the competitive season with Laketruck on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at the Lloyd Noble Center. Laketruck, previously known as the Houston Jaguars, is one of the premiere travel teams in the country. Last season they nearly defeated UConn in Storrs. This season will mark the 10th anniversary of the team.
OU will also play Division II school Missouri Western State in an exhibition game on Nov. 7.
The regular season begins on the earliest date of possible competition when the Sooners host the annual State Farm Tip-Off Classic at LNC on Nov. 12. OU will play DePaul at 2:30 p.m., while Rutgers and Georgia will face each other in the opening game at Noon. Both contests will air live on ESPN2.
