OU HEAD COACH BOB STOOPS
“I’m pleased to win again. I have a long history in Iowa. I knew the players they had and knew they would be tough.”

On offense:
“Our offense got it going in the second half. We had several opportunities in the fi rst half for big plays and the wind carried the ball.
Sam couldn’t get a good feel for the deep ball.”

On defense:
“Defense played great. They really responded in tough situations. We had several fourth down stops.”

On halftime speech:
“I didn’t have a great speech at halftime. If you’re going to be a championship team, we have to respond in diffi cult situations. It’s hard
to have a ton of energy when you turn the ball over, even when they aren’t perfect.”

On the score at halftime:
“We were fortunate about that. As poorly as we were playing, we felt pretty good that we were only down 7-0. Offensively, we had
guys open. We just couldn’t score because of the wind conditions.”

On preparation for this game:
“This off-week comes at a great time. Everybody keeps talking about how good or bad we are, we haven’t reached our full potential
this year.”

OU QUARTERBACK SAM BRADFORD
“Our defense really kept us in the game in the fi rst half. We were really fortunate to only be down seven at half and win. I was a little
off today. I think it was a combination of things that we were slightly off in the fi rst half.”

“We came into halftime and everybody was positive. We talked about it this week, and we knew [Iowa State] was going to work hard,
but everybody stayed positive and we weren’t really concerned.”

“All that matters is the next play. Even if you’re 0-for-20, you have to go out there with confi dence because the next play could give
you a chance to win.”

OU DEFENSIVE TACKLE DEMARCUS GRANGER
“On the road it was a little loud, but the defense stepped up on fourth down like we’re supposed to. I feel the defensive tackles did
have a good game. We were eating up a lot of double teams. It was a game coming into this week, where we knew we had to stand our
ground.”

“As a defense, we always want to have a goose egg on the scoreboard. We always want to shutdown everyone we play.”

IOWA STATE HEAD COACH GENE CHIZIK
“I think we, as a team, as a group, tried to correct what we didn’t do well last week. We went back to work and fi xed things. I have to
give our football team credit today.”

“I think we played well today. I think you can’t pin today’s loss on one or two things that happened. We were down in the red zone
and we didn’t score.”

“Oklahoma is a great football team. They can run it well, they can throw it well and they keep pounding the ball until they make it.
Their football team is, if not the best, one of the best teams in the nation.”

“I thought our defense played physical. They tried to play with a lot of passion and emotion today. I was very proud of them. They
created turnovers and they really kept us in the game today.”

“Overall I was proud of our efforts. They played with emotion and passion. They went out and fought them all day long. I don’t feel
like we took the same amount of steps back as we did last week. Anytime you lose there is no moral victory.”

“In a game like this you have to balance going for it on fourth down and keeping it a fi eld position game. We didn’t convert on the
fourth and short and it was defi nitely a momentum swing.”

On Allen Bell’s interception:
“It was really great. I am very proud of him for coming out and playing. It was a great momentum swing at the time.”

On the fans:
“Our fans came here and did their part. I haven’t shown up to one of our home games yet where the fans haven’t done their part.
These fans are phenomenal. We just have to give them something to cheer about.”

IOWA STATE QUARTERBACK BRET MEYER
“Our defense held them to pretty much seven points the whole game. When they (Oklahoma) had turnovers, we just needed to capitalize.
We need to help out our defense more.”

“Anytime you play one of the better teams in the country you have to take some chances.”

“Our defense played great all day and made some big plays on third and fourth downs.”
