OU Head Coach Sherri Coale

On the game:
"This feels really good, this is a very good win for us. Everyone played their role today. We did a great job defending against their size. This is incredible win and I think it legitimizes our team. There is not a kid on our team that doesn't realize what this means."

On the team:
"When we got down with seven minutes left, we fought back and turned it up a notch. That's what great teams do, they answer. We can win this division and we can also win this league."

OU Senior Forward Phylesha Whaley

On the game:
"I was crying tears after the game and they were only tears of joy. I was really happy about this one and it meant a lot for the team. Now people can see us for the team we really are. The team made it easy for me to score by giving me easy passes in the post. The team knows how to pass away from the defense and they put the ball right into my hands."

Texas Tech Head Coach Marsha Sharp

On the game:
"I think you have to give OU a lot of credit because they played very well and they made the plays to win. Winning on the road is tough in the Big 12 and tonight was no exception. We did feel a sense of urgency in the second half and we made a run at them and we pulled ahead a few times, but they made their shots at the end. A lot of credit goes to Phylesha Whaley because she made several crucial shots in the second half. I also want to give our players credit too because they played hard too, especially our seniors."

On OU's talent:
"They are a great team. Coach Coale has surrounded herself with several talented players including Dales, Whaley and Caufield. They are definitely a contender in this conference."

Texas Tech Senior Guard Melinda Schmucker-Pharies

On her second half shooting spree:
"We were able to open it up more once OU went to a zone defense. It gave me a chance to get some open looks and that definitely helped my shooting in the second half."
