Oklahoma broke a two-game losing skid to Michigan State with the 60-58 win. MSU now leads the series, 4-2.
Michigan State entered the game making more free throws on the season than its opponents attempted. However, OU was 15-for-21 from the charity stripe tonight while the Spartans were 11-for-17.
Oklahoma's guards accounted for 50 of the team's 60 points. Ebi Ere (21) and Hollis Price (19) teamed for 40. Ere has now led the Sooners in scoring in seven of their 10 games while Price has done it the other three.
Jabahri Brown blocked a career-high five shots to run his season total to 15. Thirteen of those blocks have come in the last four games (3.3 average).
Kevin Bookout recorded 17 points and seven rebounds against UNC Asheville in OU's last game, but scored just two points tonight and did not register a rebound. He still leads the team with his .591 field goal percentage.
Price made 10 free throws on 11 attempts. Both figures were Oklahoma highs this year. He has now made 50-of-55 attempts on the year (.909).
Ere had 21 points, five rebounds, one assist and a career-high-tying four steals to earn All-College Classic MVP honors.
Michigan State committed 16 turnovers while Oklahoma had 12. The Sooners have committed the same or fewer turnovers than nine of their 10 opponents this season.
