NORMAN, Okla. -- The University of Oklahoma women's gymnastics team, ranked 10th nationally, will head to Ames, Iowa, Saturday to compete in the Big 12 Conference Championships at Iowa State's Hilton Coliseum. Competition is set to begin at 8 p.m. The Sooners ended their regular season posting an overall record of 11-2 and are 2-1 in conference action.

OU is the No. 2 conference seed behind Nebraska, who is 4-0 against Big 12 opponents. The Sooners defeated both Iowa State (196.500-195.600) and Missouri (195.000 to 193.900) and loss to No. 5 Nebraska (195.400-194.100).

The Sooners, who recorded a 194.950, earned a third-place spot at the Big 12 Championships last year, behind Nebraska (196.750) and Iowa State (195.650). Missouri finished fourth with a 194.550. Sooner senior Amber McCracken tied for third in the all-around (39.225) and captured the uneven parallel bars title (9.875). She placed fourth on the vault and sixth on the floor with twin scores of 9.900. OU's Ginger Russell placed second on the floor and fourth on the beam with scores of 9.900. Both McCracken and Russell were named to the all-conference team.
