OklahomaWith tonight's win, Oklahoma moves to 30-3 and becomes the only women's basketball team in school history to post a 30 win season.
Oklahoma's 72-62 win over Texas Tech tonight marks the first time the Sooners have advanced to the Elite Eight. The Sooners are now 9-4 in NCAA Tournament action.
Oklahoma improves its record to 11-3 when playing top 25 teams.
With tonight's win, the Sooners have won 5 consecutive games against Texas Tech and 6 of its last 7.
Oklahoma remains one of only two teams to have both its men's and women's teams alive in the NCAA Tournament.
Junior forward Caton Hill became the school's all-time record holder in double-doubles with 15 points and 13 rebounds tonight. She surpassed Sooner great Phylesha Whaley's previous 25 double-doubles.
Sooner senior LaNeishea Caufield is 16-17 from the line in the final two minutes of the game.
Oklahoma extends its winning streak to eight games and pushes its neutral site record to 9-0.
Rosalind Ross has hit thirteen straight free throws, while LaNeishea Caufield had her free throw streak snapped at sixteen.
Oklahoma is a perfect 26-0 when making more field goals than its opponent ... OU is also undefeated when shooting more free throws (22-0), has more total rebounds (23-0) and more defensive boards (24-0) ... Oklahoma has had four players score in double digits in the same game 17 times this season.
