NORMAN, Okla. The University of Oklahoma men’s golf team leads the Intercollegiate at the Ridges in Jonesborough, Tenn., after two rounds of action Saturday. OU sophomore Anthony Kim leads individually at eight under par after 36 holes.
Kim, the 2003 NCAA Freshman of the Year, started his sophomore campaign fine fashion. Kim, who was tied for fourth after the first round, held off all challengers for the lead. Kim shot 68s in both rounds Saturday.
Sophomore Carlos Del Moral, a 2003 honorable mention All-American, is tied for seventh at two under after hitting back-to-back 71 rounds.
Freshman Phillip Bryan, who was tied for 38th after 18 with a round at par, fell to a tie for 47th at the end of the day. He shot a 75 in the second round after striking double bogeys on the fifth and tenth holes.
Junior Brodie Flanders, however, rallied from 80th after one round (83) to a tie for 54th with a 68. Flanders hit an eagle on the par-5 fourth and birdied on the first, 13th and 14th holes.
Senior Craig Lurie rounded out the Sooners, falling to 75th after starting the second round tied in 63rd place (+12).
The final round of 18 concludes Sunday.
