NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma soccer team lost a 2-1 home decision to Baylor tonight in front of 182 fans at the Norman North High School soccer complex. Baylors Gina Castellano unknotted a 1-1 tie with a goal at the 84:11 mark to give the Bears the victory.

After the teams played a scoreless first half, Baylor scored the games first goal in the 51st minute when Rachel Kacsmaryk netted her first of the year. Oklahoma struck back 12 minutes later as redshirt-freshman Shannon Wing tapped in her first collegiate goal.

Our team gave a tremendous effort tonight against one of the better teams in the country, said OU head coach Randy Evans. We played well enough to win, and Ill say we probably should have won. We certainly created the easier chances to score. But thats why Baylor is so good. They dont always create as many opportunities, but they do a great job of capitalizing on the ones they do create.

Baylor outshot the Sooners 21-11 on the evening and recorded 11 shots on goal to OUs seven. Nikki Hales paced the Bears with five shots while Jonette Coquat led Oklahoma with four.

Goalkeeper Dawn Greathouse made six saves and notched the win as the Bears improved to 10-5 overall and 4-3 in the Big 12. OU freshman Jana Cunningham played her second straight complete game and made nine stops. She is now 1-4-1 on the year.

Oklahoma, now 2-11-1 overall and 1-6 in conference play this season, hosts Texas Tech at 1 p.m. Sunday at Norman North High School. United States World Cup Team member Cindy Parlow will be on hand to meet fans, answer questions and sign autographs.
