“The golf course kind of beat us around today," said OU Head Coach Ryan Hybl. "We played well down the stretch, but unfortunately we didn’t get enough birdies. We got some good play out of Ryan Sirman and Abraham Ancer. We’re actually not too far back from some really good teams. Hopefully we’ll have better news to report tomorrow."
Senior Ryan Sirman leads the way for the Sooners in a tie for fifth place. Sirman shot rounds of 70 and 75 and is at 1-over-par.
Also recording a strong outing on the day was Abraham Ancer, who shot rounds of 72 and 74. Ancer is tied for 10th and sits at 2-over-par.
After carding a 6-over-par 78 in the opening round, junior Riley Pumphrey rebounded nicely with an even-par second round. He is tied for 23rd at +6.
Freshman Michael Schoolcraft is tied for 43rd place after registering rounds of 76 and 79, while freshman Eduardo Castiello shot two rounds of 80 and is tied for 58th. Junior Will Kropp is tied for 68th after posting rounds of 85 and 82.
Oklahoma State's Peter Uihlein (-5) holds a four-stroke lead over second-place Kelly Kraft of SMU.
