NORMAN, Okla. -- The University of Oklahoma men’s gymnastics team regained the top spot in the GymInfo poll released on Tuesday.

This week’s rankings are based on the National Qualifying Average used to set the seeds for the NCAA Championships.

OU vaulted to No. 1 ranking after topping then-No. 4 Illinois and No. 5 Penn State last weekend.  The win was the Sooners' fifth win over a top five opponent this season.

Oklahoma has a week off to recuperate before beginning postseason competition at the 2011 MPSF Championships, April 2 in Colorado Springs, Colo. Last season, the Sooners claimed their 10th conference title in the last 12 years.

This week's rankings mark the second time this season that OU has held the top spot.  The Sooners began the year ranked No. 3 in the preseason but was atop the list for five weeks.

During Saturday's win over Illinois and Penn State, Oklahoma posted top scores on four of the six event titles with team highs on floor (62.850), vault (64.900), parallel bars (59.150) and high bar (59.300).

Legendre claimed the all-around with a 91.250, while tying for first on high bar with a 15.350.
