Women's Golf Team Captures Third Place At Betsy Rawls

NORMAN, Okla. - The Oklahoma women's golf team concluded tournament action at the Besty Rawls Longhorn Classic with a score of 929 and a third-place finish. The Sooners competed at the Barton Creek Lakeside course in Austin, Texas. Oklahoma played 27 holes today due to a rain delay yesterday. Second-ranked Duke claimed the tournament title by three strokes.

Junior Allison Johnson shot a 225 for a third-place finish. Tenth place went to sophomore Lisa Meldrum with a score of 229, while senior Wendy Martin tied for 17th with a score of 235. Carding a 240 was senior Jennifer Tannehill with a 28th-place finish and sophomore Hope Edge turned in a score of 250 for a 58th-place finish. Freshman Emily Milberger, who competed as an individual, shot a 251.

Oklahoma will next host the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic on April 8-9, in Norman, Okla at the Jimmie Austin OU Golf Course.
