Sooners Set to Open Spring Season

NORMAN, Okla. The University of Oklahoma women’s tennis team will open its spring season Feb. 5 against Oklahoma Baptist University.  The match will be played indoors at Willow Creek Golf and Country Club in Oklahoma City. 
This will be the collegiate debut of Sooner’s freshman Allie Dickinson as well as freshmen Elena Antakova and Evgenia Ostryakova.  The two Russian natives arrived on the OU campus in January.

“We are anxious to get our season started,” said head coach Mark Johnson.  “The team has been working very hard all fall and we are excited about what the season will bring.”

Head coach Mark Johnson, who is entering his 19th year at Oklahoma, returns eight letterwinners, and three freshmen to the 2006-07 team.

The match will begin at noon Monday and results will be posted on  Willow Creek is located at 6501 S Country Club Dr., in Oklahoma City, Okla.
