Tulsa, Okla. - Oklahoma soccer will attempt to keep the Sooners' winning
streak alive in Tulsa when they meet the ORU Golden Eagles at 8 p.m. on Sunday
night.
OU (1-0) shutout Tulsa, 2-0, on Friday evening in the season opener for both schools.
The soccer contest wrapped up on the ORU campus in south Tulsa just as the Sooner
football team was nearing halftime with TU in their season opener at Skelly Stadium
to the north. Football followed soccer's lead and did not surrender a point to
the Golden Hurricane, winning 37-0.
Soccer head coach Randy Evans enjoyed a breakout opener for his incoming freshmen
as newcomers Lauren MacIver and Michelle Enos provided the fireworks for the Sooners.
MacIver's goal with eight minutes remaining in the first half proved to be enough
for OU. In the second half, Michelle Enos found the back of the net to push the
final score to 2-0. Sooner goalkeeper Catherine Wade recorded the shutout, as
the Golden Hurricane (0-1) were limited to only three shots on goal.
Oklahoma returns to action in T-Town against host Oral Roberts (0-1) at the ORU
soccer complex. The Golden Eagles lost their game against Oklahoma State on Friday
night, 3-1.
Admission is free to the game.
