Throwers Open Track and Field Weekend

WALNUT, Calif. – The University of Oklahoma throwers opened weekend competition on Friday in California and Arkansas. Luke Bryant was the top collegiate finisher in the men’s discus throw invitational at the Mt. SAC Relays. Bryant finished 10th overall with a mark of 197 feet, seven inches registered on his first attempt. Bailey Wagner finished seventh overall in the women’s open shot put, throwing 50-4.

Wagner (158-5) and Brittany Borman (177-5) competed in the women’s discus throw invitational. Borman was fourth among collegiate competitors.

Angel Togafau finished second in the women’s hammer throw to highlight the first day of the John McDonnell Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark. Togafau reached a season’s best mark of 174-11 on her second attempt. Rylee Rackley threw 169-10 on her fourth attempt to finish third. Holden Mitchell was third on the men’s side with a throw of 185-7.

Lauren Guerrieri was third in the discus throw, hitting 143-1 on her last attempt. Alex Morgan was fourth with a mark of 142-11.

The Sooners are back in action Saturday with the majority of the team at the McDonnell Invitational. Tia Brooks and Brittany Borman compete in the shot put and javelin, respectively, at the Mt. SAC Relays. Results from both meets are available at
