OU Men's Tennis Sweeps Lamar, 6-0

NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma men's tennis team shutout Lamar, 6-0, on Saturday, Feb. 23, at the UTA Tennis Center in Arlington, Texas. This victory marks the third time OU has held its opponent scoreless this season. The Sooners take their record to 5-2, while Lamar drops to 2-8 on the season.

Oklahoma dominated all six singles matches, winning four of the six in straight sets. Junior Chris Mitchell continues to play well, improving to 6-1 on the year with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Lamar's Nebojsa Murisic at No. 2 singles. Junior Olivier Girardot and freshman Brad Prigmore improved to 3-1 and 2-2, respectively, playing in their fourth match of the season. Freshman Alex Nomicos won in three sets over the Cardinals Thatcher Cribbs at No. 5 singles, improving to 4-2 on the year.

Oklahoma returns home this Friday, March 1, against Oral Roberts at 1:30 p.m. This will be the Sooners first match at the newly constructed OU Headington Family Tennis Center located at Chatauqua and Imhoff.
