Matt Cohn Named Academic All-American

NORMAN, Okla. - University of Oklahoma golfer Matt Cohn (La Jolla, Calif.) was named to the Verizon Men's Spring At-Large Academic All-America third team Tuesday, adding to his growing list of accolades this season. Cohn, a psychology major with an overall grade point average of 3.94, was named to the 2001 Verizon Academic All-District VI Men's University Spring At-Large first team earlier this spring. He was the only underclassman to be selected to the first team all-district.

He was also named to the 2001 Academic All-Big 12 first team, as well as the 2001 All-Big 12 men's golf team. He finished this past season with a stroke average of 74.12 while posting five top-10 finishes and leading the Sooners in four tournaments including the first outing of the season at The Ridges Intercollegiate where he tied for third place. He also helped the Sooners to a tournament victory at the Windon Memorial Classic by tying for fourth place.
