Flores, Ricketts Named to POY Top 25

NORMAN, Okla. – University of Oklahoma senior Amber Flores (Calexico, Calif.) and freshman Keilani Ricketts (San Jose, Calif.) have been named to the Amateur Softball Association’s top 25 finalist list for the 2010 Collegiate Player of the Year.

This award, which is considered the most prestigious honor in Division I women’s collegiate softball, is designed to recognize outstanding athletic achievement by female collegiate softball players across the country. The list represents 20 schools and seven different NCAA Division I Conferences. The list is comprised of 10 seniors, seven juniors, one sophomore and seven freshman. The 2010 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year will be chosen from the 25 finalists.

A list of 10 finalists will be released on May 12. The three finalists will be announced May 26th while the winner of the 2010 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Award will be announced prior to the start of the 2010 NCAA Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma City.
