NORMAN, Okla. -- As part of continuing coverage of Oklahoma baseball throughout the summer, SoonerSports.com will bring fans weekly updates of current Sooners competing in the numerous summer baseball leagues around the country.
After two weeks of competition, pitcher Daniel McCutchen has had two solid starts for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox of the Cape Cod Baseball League. In McCutchen's first outing of the season against the Wareham Gateman, he tossed 8.1 innings of four-hit baseball with 12 strikeouts while allowing just one earned run. In his second outing of the season against the Chatham A's, McCutchen lasted six strong innings and allowed one earned run on six hits, while striking out seven batters. McCutchen has 19 strikeouts on the season, a mark that is good for third place in the Cape.
McCutchen is joined by teammates, Kody Kaiser, Jackson Williams, on the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox. Also competing in the Cape Cod Baseball League is Sooner reliever Will Savage, competing for the Brewster Whitecaps.
Finally, Kevin Duke (Matsu Miners) of the Alaska Baseball League and Joe Dunigan (Dupage Dragons) of the Central Illinois Collegiate Baseball League.
