NORMAN, Okla. - Head wrestling coach Jack Spates announced Wednesday the signing of Charles Jones of Edmond, Okla., to the 2002-03 recruiting class. Jones, an Edmond North senior, is currently ranked second by Amateur Wrestling News. Oklahoma will look to wrestle the three-time Oklahoma state champion, who placed seventh at Junior Nationals, at 157 pounds.

"Charles Jones is an outstanding student-athlete who will enrich our program on and off the mat. A rare three-time state finalist, Charles is looking to capture his second title this year," said Spates. "Charles is a ferocious worker and will compete at 157 pounds. He will help us in our quest to bring the national chapionship back to Norman."

Jones will be joining his former Husky teammates, Teyon Ware and Erin Helvey, as a Sooner next year. Jones joins Choctaw native Joel Flaggert and Virginia product Brandon Hardy as early commitments for Oklahoma.
