NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma men's golf team finished the first and second rounds in 17th place at the Morris Williams Intercollegiate in Austin, Texas, on Monday. The Sooners finished the first 36 holes with a team score of 592 (+16). The tournament leader is Texas, who shot a 20-under-par 556. The tournament is being played on the Men's Championship Tees (par 72 - 6,906 yards) at the Austin Country Club. Six teams didn't finish the second round due to darkness.

OU was led by junior Blake Martin (Stigler, Okla.) who fired an opening-round 67 and is currently tied for 13th place. Junior Doug Manor (Garland, Texas) remains consistent for the Sooners, following his first-round 72 with a second round score of 74 and sits in a tie for 35th place.

Freshman Jim Renner (Plainville, Mass.) carded a first-round 77 and a second-round 76 and is tied for 71st place.

Rounding out the scoring for the Sooners are senior John Kidwell (Dallas, Texas) and freshman Brodie Flanders (Petitcodiac, New Brunswick) who finished the second round tied for 75th and 83rd, respectively.

The Sooners begin final-round action Tuesday morning.
