Sooners Ready to Compete
The Oklahoma women's golf team is currently ranked 29th and 30th by Golf week and Golfstat. These rankings come on the heels of a very turbulent fall season. The team did not attend its first tournament of the season due to the tragic events of Sept. 11. While they searched for a tournament to compensate for those rounds, the girls competed in the Big 12 Invitational and the NMSU Intercollegiate, where they placed seventh and third respectively. Next came the Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invitational, that was shortened to one round after rain made the first two impossible, where the Sooners took first place honors. The Sooners finally got included in the Alabama Capstone Intercollegiate to round the fall season out, where the team placed sixth out of 17 teams.
